Springfield, IL is the home of the Sangamon Valley Roots Revival. What is it? Well for those in the know it's a series of hep Americana Roots Music concerts put together by the ever cool and wonderful Sean and Jamie Burns. Seems they got sick and tired of driving to other cities to see shows and decided to bring bands to their own home town. Now, musicians playing American roots music know they have some friends in Springfield, Illinois. We've played for Sean and Jamie and the fine folks of Springfield several times now and we feel very lucky we keep getting invited back. Thanks to the Burns and the crack staff of UCT. We had a great time and especially want to give a "hey howdy hey" to the fine family at the Magic Kitchen for powering our set with enough Thai curry to kill a mule! We highly recommend you stop there when visiting Springfield and remember...BYOB!!!

This gig was our very first out of the chute with our new drummer Rick Murawski. We tossed more horseshoes and hand grenades at that boy back there but he handled 'em all pretty darn well. You can see Casey trying to distract Buddy who is concentrating on his new Carter steel he picked up. We really miss that cool Sho-Bud but Buddy says that dang ol thing needs some serious re-tooling so it's into the shop with the Sho-Bud. Some of us think he just bought the new one because it has his last name on it. Sorta like a vanity plate.

Steel away Cousin Buddy, steeel awaaayyy!

Here we see Mr. Andon T. Davis mugging it up. Andon sat in with us in Springfield as our fifth fool. Andon and Dave switched back and forth between lead and rhythm. "Forget fame and fortune..." Andon says, "the best part about playing a gig with the Gin Palace Jesters are the snazzy plaid uniforms!"

He's always joking around this one.

Casey Stockdon and Dave Sisson do their best version of Jim and Jessie's "Are You Missing Me?"
